SKATE THE SQUARE THIS WINTER!
The Gillett City crew prepares the rink by plowing snow
to the perimeter in December.
The Gillett Fire Department floods the rink on January 6th.
Thanks to the Gillett city crew and the Gillett Fire Department, the skating rink in the Square on Main Street is ready for skaters! Skating is available for free for families, just bring your own skates.
This rink is operated by voluntary labor for the benefit of the public, and the library will act as a warming center during our open hours. Parents are responsible for their children, as no supervision is provided.
Contact us if you can help with the routine maintenance to keep the rink in great shape for the skaters.....like sweeping snow off of the ice (the city will plow after snowstorms), filling cracks, and picking up litter.
Skate the Square on Main Street...get out and glide through the winter!
We're still waiting to get quotes from local contractors to add a second bathroom in the Community Center building. And when the renovations are complete, the Center will be available to the public for skating parties, birthday parties, and more.
