LIBRARY SERVICES

LIBRARY PROGRAMS
Programming continues to be a priority at our library. In 2010 the GPL held 76 programs for children and adults with an attendance of 2300 people! Our Summer Reading Program attracts over 150 area adults, children, and teens and it is one of our most popular programs. Our library also has a weekly storytime for preschoolers, and a monthly Family Fun Day.  View our Calendar of Events page for upcoming programs.

LIBRARY HISTORY
Every accomplishment starts with a dream. So it was with the members of the Gillett Woman's Club when the time came to relax from the demands of WWI. They stopped knitting and crocheting scarves, socks, mittens and caps, and thought about improving their own corner of the world.
Click here to read more about the history of the GPL.

ANSORGE ANNEX MEETING ROOM
Our meeting room can accommodate up to 90 people, and it is used several times per day by various nonprofit organizations including the Gillett Woman's Club, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, 4H Clubs, the Gillett Historical Society, VFW, the Northern Gardeners, and local quilting guilds.  The room is free to all nonprofit groups and is reserved on a first-come first-serve basis; other groups can use the room for a fee of $25.00.

INTERNET/COMPUTER
The GPL has 10 public Internet stations and offers free WiFi to all users. There is a multi-media computer for kids in our Children's Corner which is equipped with several educational software programs. Computer use continues to increase each year...our library hosted 16,492 Internet sessions in 2010!

SCHOOL/LIBRARY PARTNERSHIP
Our library partners with the Gillett School District to provide community programming (Technology Nights), and has collaborated with teachers to provide the necessary materials for student assignments. Our library also showcases the artwork of students from the Gillett School District each month.
