Our May Family Fun Day is all about DREAMING BIG (which is the theme of our Summer Reading Program this year). Everyone who wears pajamas on this day will receive something special from the GPL. Lots of fun activities including an introduction to the excitement ahead at this year's SRP!

We'll also be launching our STORYWALK project...all the kids will help us get the pages set along Main Street and will be the first ones to Walk the Walk! Join us this Saturday.  Our first story is "Sheep Take a Hike" by Nancy Shaw.  See the map below for the page locations.

In celebration of National Pet Week which is May 6th - 12th, the GPL will once again be collecting donations for the Oconto Area Humane Society. Drop off your donations here anytime during the month of May. The OAHS is in need of many items and you can visit their website for more information.

All who make a donation to the OAHS during the month of May will be entered into a prize drawing.  2 prizes will be given away which are full of everything and anything about pets and pet care...the prize basket donated by the Northwoods Veterinary Clinic contains a $25.00 gift certificate for vet care and a coupon for a free nail clipping.

Meet Dr. Gallagher from Northwoods Veterinary Clinic.  Dr. G will be at the library right after school to meet with the kids and answer pet care questions. He will bring in his own dog, and the children will be able to use a stethoscope to listen to its heart and learn about pet care.  All children are encouraged to bring in their stuffed animals for Dr. Gallagher to examine!
