Amazon is working with super librarian Nancy Pearl to bring some of Nancy's favorite novels back into publication.  Amazon is republishing several books which have been recommended by Nancy that have been long out of print...Nancy will include an introduction in each book as well as discussion questions for book groups and a list of recommended further reading.   Check out Amazon's Book Lust Rediscoveries by Nancy Pearl for more information.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Local author Kathy Campshure will be here to sign copies of her new book "Deer Hunting from a Recliner: A collection of essays reflecting on rural life in northeast Wisconsin" on Saturday, February 11th from 9:30 - 11:00. Proceeds from book sales will go to the Oconto Area Humane Society.  Plan to attend and help us help the OAHS.  In celebration of Kathy's new book release, our library will be collecting donations for the OAHS during the entire month of February.
 
 
Check out the Book Club recommendations this week coming from UNSHELVED.  This week in the Unshelved Book Club you'll find books about the twelve labors of Hercules (a modern teenager), a girl on the run from her mother's murderer, Bandon Dunes golf course, NFL star Justin Tuck's childhood, vikings, a magician's elephant, and a young manga artist, as well as Craig Thompson's latest graphic novel, Habibi.
 
 
_The American Library Association (ALA) today announced the top books, video and audiobooks for children and young adults  (including the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery and Printz awards) at its Midwinter Meeting in Dallas. You can search for these titles in our online catalog InfoSoup.
 
 
Congratulations to Gillett native Abe Clark on the release of his new book RUNNING WATER.  Abe crossed the country on foot and by bike and logged in almost 12,000 miles.  You can purchase an autographed copy of his book by visiting his website or through Amazon.com.
